Take The Great Vow (Maha Vrata) To Live The Yamas

In Asana Classes this week we’ll be activating Yoga Sutra 2.31 into our Being along with more core strengthening and Muscular Energy to shine out the 1st Limb of Yoga, the 5 Yamas of non-harming, truthfulness, non-stealing, conscious control and right use of our vital force and non-attachment in Balancing Poses.

B.K.S. Iyengar translates this sutra as: “The five components of Yama are called ‘mighty universal vows’, as they are not confined to class, place, time or concept of duty. They should be followed unconditionally by students of yoga in particular. They form the framework of rules on which society is based. This universal approach should also be applied to all the other component states of yoga without distinction of time, place or circumstances to lay down the precepts of a universal culture. They represent the ideal, responsible way for everyone to live.”

Meditation Master Sri Mooji says that without meditation, without […]

Burn All That You Are Not

“Meditation is fire – It burns your thoughts, your desires, your memories; it burns the past and the future. It burns your mind and the ego. It takes away all that you think that you are. It is a death and a rebirth, a crucifixion and a resurrection. You are born anew. You lose your old identity totally, and you attain to a new vision of life.” ~Osho

Burn all that you are not, move from the the temporary to the eternal, the impure to the pure, the limited self to the True Self at Friday Night 7:15pm Meditation Class at LCY!

Mars gives us courage, drive, initiative, good logic and the ability to engineer and build things. A good Mars makes you a good leader. If it is agitated one might not have full […]

Wake Up! Ida, Pingala & Sushumna Energy Channels- One Day Retreat

Within us are planes of existence, areas of consciousness, which are in absolute darkness. How are you going to penetrate and illuminate them? It’s useless to talk about the different stages of consciousness. You must be able to experience them, like you experience the state of dreams or sleep.

When the pranic energy is aroused and awakened through the yogic practices, it is circulated to these dark areas of consciousness. Kind of like when you do a yoga pose and you feel all the awakened energy go to the side you did the pose on and the other side is so dull and almost lifeless in comparison. It’s the same with consciousness. Once the energy is circulated to the dark areas of consciousness the inner city is illuminated and you are reborn into a new dimension of existence!

Hatha yoga is practiced in order to initiate a process in this physical body […]
